Mario Suarez, AICP

Mario Suarez is a native Californian. He grew up in the San Gabriel Valley. He has a Bachelor's of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona After graduation he was a full-time planner for the City of Alhambra. Working in his hometown was a wonderful start for his planning career and a great opportunity to give back to the community of his childhood. For twenty plus years Mario has worked in local government in Arizona, Nevada and California. He also holds a Masters of Arts in Organizational Management and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. His experiences encompass project management and current and advanced planning at all levels, including deputy director for the City of Las Vegas. Mario also worked as a private planning consultant in the Coachella Valley and Riverside County and knows the importance of community and place. Not one to waste his time and talents, during this economic downturn, he serves as Associate Director. At the Inlandia Institute, Mario is responsible for organizational management, operations and technical support Mario and his wife Yvonne, are delighted to have called Riverside, the City of Arts and Innovation, home since June 2008.
