Bob Johnson

Bob graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Natural Resources and earned an M.S and Ph.D. in the School of Renewable Natural Resources at the University of Arizona.  Bob began his professional planning career in Tucson, AZ where he worked for Pima County.  Later he was as an Environmental Analyst at Tucson Electric Power Company, and concurrently served as a Member/ Chair of the Pima County Planning & Zoning Commission, taught Environmental Planning at the University of Arizona, served on the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Advisory Council.  He was appointed Director of Planning & Development for Pima County.  He served as Director of Community Development for the City of Irvine for nearly 8 years.  He also served as President of the Orange County Planning Director’s Association.  When Bob left the City he worked as a Managing Director of the California Energy Coalition in Laguna Beach, CA.  Bob re-entered the world of planning as a Senior Consultant for Zucker Systems, a San Diego Planning Consultant, working with Monterey County’s Planning, Building and Inspection Department.  More recently Bob served as the Planning Director for the County of Riverside, and in December 2006 became the Assistant City Manager for the City of Temecula, CA.
